In Spanish, the plural of a noun is formed...
1. ...by adding an "-s" affix...
When the noun ends in a non-stressed vowel
la cosa → las cosas
el juego → los juegos
el padre → los padres
la tribu → las tribus
When the noun ends in a stressed "-é" or "-ó"
el bebé → los bebés
el café → los cafés
el dominó → los dominós
el bongó → los bongós
(The accent mark indicates an irregular emphasis)
2. ...or by adding an "-es" affix...
When the noun ends in a consonant
la pared → las paredes
el león → los leones*
el profesor → los profesores
el reloj → los relojes
el papel → los papeles
el mes → los meses
* the accent sign is dropped because irregular emphasis becomes regular and it needs no indication any more
Look out for nouns ending in a "-z". That "z" will turn into a "c" when followed by an "e" in plural.
la vez → las veces
la voz → las voces
el lápiz → los lápices
el avestruz → los avestruces
When the noun ends in a stressed vowel other than "-é"
el jabalí → los jabalíes
el bambú → los bambúes
el tabú → los tabúes
With some notable exceptions:
el champú → los champús
la mamá → las mamás
el menú → los menús
el papá → los papás
el sofá → los sofás
3. ...or by not adding anything :-)
When a multi-syllable noun ends with an "-s" and the emphasis is NOT on the last syllable
el atlas → los atlas
el énfasis → los énfasis
el jueves → los jueves
el sacacorchos → los sacacorchos
el virus → los virus
When the noun ends with an "-x"
el bórax → los bórax
el fénix → los fénix
el tórax → los tórax

Some Spanish words are only (or dominantly) used in plural - just like many English words, even some of the equivalents of the following examples.

las albricias
los ambages
los anales
las cosquillas
las creces
los enseres
las expensas
las fauces
